We arrive, tune in and warm up: Somatic Movement helps us access our tangible body, our mindful spirit opens us to the experience of the here and now. We feel ourself in order to feel each other better. We meet ourself. We meet each other. We meet our feelings. We touch ourself and we touch each other. We move together. We play with polarities of communication like: leading and following, activity and passivity, Devotion and resistance, impression and expression. We improvise with dancing qualities. We dance in pairs in touch and explore how a fast or slow dance or a powerful or light touch affects our feelings. We exchange ideas and listen carefully. We dance freely together. In free dance, thinking merges with acting, sensing with doing. The simultaneity of impression and expression, of self and counterpart, leads to a poetic perception, a dance-like awareness. Wholesome joy can arise. We see each other as a group, exchange ideas and say goodbye. -----------A Guide In Beeing Human--------- Topics of HEALING DANCE Joy of life: HEALING DANCE is the decision to enjoy. HEALING DANCE lets us touch the joy. To be the joy, the joy of being as we are and the joy of being with others. Healing development: The aim of HEALING DANCE is the healing and helpful development of body and mind as well as relationships. Self-organisation: Self-organization is the outstanding principle of HEALING DANCE. Self-organization arises through mindful perception and helpful dialogue. Healthy development does not have to be planned. Free movement: The movement in HEALING DANCE is always free and at the moment invented and can take any form: from small, delicate and almost invisible to big, wild and spacious. In HEALING DANCE, no steps or choreographies are danced. Touch and be touched: Emotional and actual tactile touch are essential tools of HEALING DANCE. The attentive and compassionate attitude of touch creates the profound opportunity for wholesome and helpful development. Emotional expression: The movements and touches in HEALING DANCE let us get in touch with our feelings. Old and current feelings can be directly expressed through movement and touch without the detour of language. Play and improvisation: In HEALING DANCE we get to know ourselves and our life topics in a very playful and pleasurly way. Improvisation teaches us the transformative power of mistakes, and to be present in the here and now. Pl and improvisation need rules and a safe space to give us freedom. Relationship skills: In HEALING DANCE, the ability to relate is created by the fact that everyone is seen and accepted in their uniqueness and can playfully try out various forms of dialogue. This allows to co-regulate and start a healing together. Safety and Trust: Security and trust create the basis for healing development. HEALING DANCE creates a sense of security and trust not only from the leadership team but from all participants through their attentive and compassionate attitude. Honesty and truthfulness: The body does not lie. HEALING DANCE confronts us with our own truth and offers us tools to live this truth, even with other people. Open-minded and non-judgmental: HEALING DANCE gives a framework and asks questions and tasks. However, the solutions and experiences in this dialogue are always open and individual and are accepted without evaluation. Thus, healing development is possible. Individuality and connectedness: HEALING DANCE lets us discover more about who we are and how we can still live in community with a counterpart and a group. Freedom and responsibility: In HEALING DANCE, the tension between freedom and responsibility can be experienced directly and sensually. The fewer rules and the more freedom we have in moving and dancing, the more decisions we have to make and the more responsibility we have to take on. Metaphor: The experiences in HEALING DANCE can be metaphors for the personal life-style and signposts for a successful life. Nature: In HEALING DANCE, we explore our own inner nature (anatomy and mind / feelings), the nature of relationships and groups as well as the wider nature (land and plants, volcano and sea). Mindfulness and compassion: HEALING DANCE teaches us to identify the salutary spiritual qualities in the sense of buddhist psychology and to apply them to ourselves and our environment. Dialog: Through the dance dialogue in the HEALING DANCE, a healing and helpful development can be initiated starting from attentive and compassionate perception. Reflection and integration: Reflection always forms the conclusion in the dialogue of the HEALING DANCE. This allows us to integrate our experiences into everyday life contexts. Health: HEALING DANCE encourages physical and mental health, provides solutions, and initiates salutary development towards a happier balance. Liberation from suffering: HEALING DANCE can be a path and support to achieve liberation from spiritual suffering. Spirituality: By working in the here-and-now and practicing mindfulness and compassion, HEALING DANCE is also a valuable contribution on the individual spiritual path. Therapy?: HEALING DANCE does not diagnose and does not cure diseases in the medical sense. HEALING DANCE is a holistic approach to promote health. HEALING DANCE can influence body, perception, thinking and behavior to trigger a salutary development. HEALING DANCE is not a therapy, but it works. |
Steve Paxton, inventor of contact improvisation:
"I would like to be able [...] to show that Contact Improvisation has a physiological beginning, and that it’s much more microscopic, much more sensitive, much more delicate, much finer than the way we are dancing it as we go bumping into each other, touching each other. I know that seems intimate, but compared to what goes on between the mother and the baby, it is like sack cloth compared to silk. That is something I want to tell to people, that there is this texture, a far more refined texture to the dance, a goal that one can go for, in sensing what another person is doing." |

This is what I learned:
This is what I experienced:
"Interaction of breath, movement, nature and environment, view // Blooming after the rain // Blooming after the dance // great beauty in the outside and inside and in the other // to express myself through body positions // who I am // that I feel much more with my eyes closed // to appreciate the obvious // I am not too much or too little // Resistance can be friendly // Holidays need a dance of its own // Goodwill to me // Leting go into a gentle motion // a zoo full of unknown animals // group // community // development // hunger for touch // being touched // wildness and gentleness // contact // love a little bit more // loving touch // flow // peace // solidarity // pause // slowness // perception // to perceive my wealth // trust // pain // everyone is helping // together // Erection of the spine // joy // being beautiful // that being wild can do me good // finding assistence in movement // To be as I am // width // room // benevolent room // joy
I can feed myself - in spite of and with others // becoming yourself // be with me & the other // experiencing freedom from old patterns
be close to others - be close to me // HEALING DANCE"
