Sometimes you know that something needs attention,
but you don't yet know exactly what needs to change.
You may be experiencing physical tension or pain.
You may feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
You may be facing a difficult decision or going through a period of change.
Or perhaps you simply want to understand yourself more deeply
and explore what becomes possible when you listen to your body in a different way.
A one-on-one session offers you time and space to explore what is happening
through conversation, sensing, movement, reflection, and the PME Somatic Dialogue.
We begin with where you are.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ARRIVE WITH A SOLUTION
One of the central principles of PME is simple:
The body of the client holds the solution.
This does not mean that the answer is already fully known or that change happens automatically.
It means that helpful possibilities for development can emerge
when we create the right conditions for sensing, exploration, movement, and reflection.
In a session, I do not begin by telling you what is wrong with you or what you should do.
Instead, we begin with a question:
What is happening now?
What are you sensing?
What changes when you give this experience your attention?
What does your body need next?
Through the PME Somatic Dialogue, we explore these questions together and allow new sensations, movements, understanding, and possibilities to emerge.
Healing Development emerges from within on its own.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CONVERSATION
A PME one-on-one session is not only a conversation about the body.
The body becomes part of the conversation.
We may work with:
sensing and bodily sensation
movement and stillness
attention and the qualities of perception
language and reflection
emotions and physical experience
patterns of movement and relationship
self-touch, where appropriate and agreed upon
Sometimes the session involves a great deal of movement.
Sometimes very little movement is necessary.
Sometimes an important change begins simply by giving attention to something that has previously been ignored.
There is no predetermined sequence and no movement that you have to perform correctly.
We follow the process that develops from your experience.

WHEN MIND AND BODY ARE PART OF THE SAME EXPERIENCE
We often divide our experience into separate categories.
We speak about a physical problem, an emotional problem, a relationship problem, or a difficult decision.
But our lived experience is rarely divided in this way.
The way you feel can influence how you move.
The way you move can influence how you feel.
A difficult relationship may be experienced as tension in the body.
Physical discomfort can affect your emotions and your sense of possibility.
Old patterns may continue to express themselves in movement, sensation, thinking, and behaviour.
PME works with the whole person.
Through sensing, movement, dialogue, and reflection, we explore how your experience is organised and what new possibilities may emerge.

WHAT MIGHT YOU EXPLORE IN A ONE-ON-ONE SESSION?
People come to individual PME sessions for many different reasons.
You may want to explore:
physical tension, discomfort, or movement limitations
stress and difficulty finding calm
emotional suffering or difficult feelings
recurring patterns that no longer feel helpful
the relationship between physical and emotional experience
an important life, career, or relationship decision
a period of transition or personal change
greater freedom and effortlessness in movement
your relationship with your body
a desire for deeper personal development
ways of developing your own somatic practice
come as you are
You do not need to fit into a particular category before booking a session.

HOW DOES A SESSION WORK?
Every session is individual, but the process usually begins with a conversation.
You tell me what brings you to the session, what is important to you, or simply what you are experiencing at the moment.
From there, we may begin to explore through the body.
I may ask you to sense your body mindfully and compassionately.
I may invite you to make a small or larger movement, slow down, pause, or describe what you are experiencing.
Sometimes we simply give a process enough time to develop on its own.
The PME Somatic Dialogue can be understood very simply:
Sensing becomes the question.
What develops from within becomes the answer.
From this dialogue, new movement, understanding, and possibilities can emerge.
There is nothing you need to prepare in advance, and you do not need any experience with somatic work.

THE SESSION IS A COLLABORATIVE PROCESS
I bring more than 35 years of experience in somatic practice, movement, body psychotherapy, coaching, education, and therapeutic work.
But I do not consider myself the person who possesses the answer to your life.
My role is to bring experience, attention, professional knowledge, and the PME approach to our work together.
You bring your own experience.
Together, we create the conditions for exploration.
This is one of the reasons I have continued to work with PME for so many years:
The most important changes are not imposed from outside.
They emerge when a person begins to sense themselves differently and discovers a new possibility from within.

"My quality of life has improved noticeably since I started treatment with Dieter Rehberg. The panic attacks I have suffered for years have already disappeared within a few weeks, and the pain in my musculoskeletal system has also been noticeably reduced and now only occurs very rarely. PME has helped me much better than any other method I have tried so far - including years of psychotherapy. I can only warmly recommend it!"

ABOUT DIETER REHBERG
I am the developer of PME--Physio-Mentale Entwicklung—and Director of The Somatic Training Academy. My work brings together more than 35 years of professional experience in somatic movement, dance, body psychotherapy, coaching, massage and bodywork, somatic education, and therapeutic practice. PME has developed through this long practical journey and through my continuing interest in one central question: How do people change in ways that are genuinely helpful, sustainable, and their own? Today, I teach PME internationally and work with people individually as well as with students and professionals in the PME Somatic Training. My approach is grounded in the understanding that every person is different. I therefore do not apply a fixed technique or predetermined interpretation to everyone. We begin with your experience. |
BEGIN WHERE YOU ARE
You do not need to know exactly what you need.
You do not need to have the right words.
You do not need to know what the solution will look like.
Sometimes the first step is simply to stop for a moment and ask:
What if I am sensing my body mindfully and compassionatly?
What am I experiencing?
From there, we can begin.
I would be happy to meet you, listen to what brings you here, and explore together what may emerge.
